BJ offers clients a wealth of experience from a wide variety of litigation matters, representing individuals, small and family businesses, large corporations and Fortune 500 companies in multiple forums. He focuses his practice on business disputes, such as employment matters, shareholder claims, director and officer liability and day-to-day business disputes. BJ also has litigation experience handling products liability cases, restaurant and retail liability, civil rights matters, contract disputes, insurance matters, personal injury and appeals. BJ has spent a substantial amount of time working with small business owners and entrepreneurs to guide them through their legal issues including: negotiation of real estate disputes; franchising and intellectual property matters; issues between partners and founders, and counseling business owners on how to avoid legal risks. Indiana has a vibrant startup community and BJ has been at the forefront, working with entrepreneurs to address their unique concerns and challenges. BJ graduated with a B.A. from Vanderbilt University, and remains a die-hard Commodores fan. He received his J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law. While in law school, BJ was a finalist and later served as Chief Justice for the Sherman Minton Moot Court Competition.

Lucy Dollens concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation, representing clients in all aspects of business litigation disputes. Lucy enjoys working with her clients to best position them to meet their business objectives and minimize risk with respect to contractual issues prior to the initiation of litigation and throughout the course of litigation. Licensed in both Indiana and West Virginia, Lucy’s commercial litigation practice encompasses distribution and dealership disputes and warranty issues, including for large manufacturing clients, as well as employment restrictive covenants and trade secrets litigation. She also has extensive experience representing financial institutions, servicers, and consumer finance companies in both the consumer and commercial contexts. Her practice extends to federal and state trial and appellate courts, bankruptcy courts, proceedings involving governmental agencies and regulators, and class actions.  In the appellate arena, Lucy represents individuals and corporate clients in both state and federal appellate courts in a range of legal issues including commercial litigation, labor and employment disputes, products liability cases, premises liability matters, and administrative and licensing issues. She also represents amicus curiae parties in cases involving significant issues before Indiana’s Court of Appeals and Supreme Court and pro bono clients (through court appointment) in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.  In addition to her role as Office Managing Partner, she also serves as Recruiting Chair for the Indianapolis Office.

Lauren’s practice focuses on personal injury defense, insurance coverage, and medical malpractice defense. She has represented individuals and businesses through all stages of litigation including discovery, mediation, motion practice, trial, and appeals.  She regularly appears in state and federal courts throughout Indiana and Kentucky. Lauren is also a registered domestic mediator in Indiana and is passionate about helping families resolve conflicts outside the courtroom.

Marian C. Drenth concentrates her practice in civil litigation with an emphasis in health care litigation. Her experience includes representing clients through Indiana’s Medical Review Panel Process, mediation and through trial. Ms. Drenth has successfully defended clients in numerous jury trial, many as first chair, in matters involving general negligence and medical malpractice claims. She speaks at in-house seminars for health care providers regarding preventative tools to assit in risk management. She is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the Porter County Inns of Court and Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana, where she currently serves as Director and previously served as vice-chair of the Health Lasw Section. She is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.She served as a board member of the Porter County Inns of Court where she became president in 2009.

Beverly Mack is a partner in the LaPorte firm of Huelat & Mack P.C. She is an Illinois native, and practiced law at an insurance defense firm in her home state for seven years before relocating to Indiana in 1996. Libby Valos Moss is a Partner with the firm Kightlinger & Gray, LLP. She is a trial attorney who concentrates her practice in the areas of employment law and defense of employers before the Indiana Worker’s Compensation Board. She is a frequent speaker on the issues employer’s face when confronted with worker’s compensation claims. She is admitted to practice in Indiana and before the U.S. District Court, Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Libby is a 1995 graduate of Ball State University and graduated from the Indiana University School of Law, Indianapolis, in 1999. She has served as the Chair of the DTCI Worker’s Compensation Section. In addition to being an active member of DTCI, she is also a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, Indiana State Bar Association, Litigation Counsel of America and Defense Research Institute.

Maryanne feels very at home in the court room, which is why, as a partner with Bunger & Robertson, she has specialized primarily in civil litigation. However, Maryanne understands that for clients, appearing in front of a judge or jury can be a difficult experience – one she hopes to guide them through as painlessly as possible. Maryanne joined the firm in January 2005 with an expansive knowledge of local government law – she had spent 18 years serving the Bloomington community as a Monroe County deputy prosecuting attorney.

As a criminal defense attorney, Maryanne offers her clients compassion and respect, but she also brings a wide of berth of experience that encompasses everything from litigating basic misdemeanor trials to complex felony cases. Maryanne’s practice also includes a wide variety of civil litigation matters including insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, landlord/tenant matters, and expungement of criminal records.

Maryanne is passionate about giving back to the Bloomington community while simultaneously serving the needs of fellow professional women. As such, she currently serves on the board of My Sisters Closet, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing appropriate work attire for low-income or at-risk women who are actively seeking employment, as well as job skills training. Maryanne also serves as an advocate for children in our community by representing the interests of Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Kayla Goodfellow is litigation counsel for The Cincinnati Insurance Company, where she represents businesses, individuals, and insurers in a vast range of civil litigation from inception through trial and appeal. Her litigation includes the areas of personal injury, contractor liability, construction defect, premise liability, dental malpractice, veterinarian liability, insurance subrogation, and insurance coverage. Kayla earned her B.A. degree from Coe College and her J.D. degree from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.  She obtained her CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) certification in 2022, furthering her specialization in risk management and property-casualty insurance.  Kayla is an board member and active supporter of NeighborLink Foundation of Indianapolis, which provides free home repairs for Indianapolis seniors to enable them to age in place safely.

Rick Shoultz is a partner at Lewis Wagner, LLP, and focuses his practice upon representing clients in the areas of fire loss, construction, product liability, insurance and commercial litigation. He also spends considerable time in assisting clients in the analysis and litigation of insurance coverage questions relating to commercial general liability, automobile, property and homeowners policies, including claims relating to breach of the insurer’s duty of good faith. He is a graduate of Hanover College in 1987, and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 1990.  Mr. Shoultz is a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, DRI, the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association and the Indianapolis Bar Association. He has been selected as an Indiana Super Lawyer for the years of 2010-2018, and in The Best Lawyers of America in the field of Insurance Law for 2013-2019. Jordan Slusher litigates complex product liability and tort cases in state and federal courts across the United States. He regularly represents manufacturers, sellers, and distributors of medical devices, industrial machinery, construction equipment and tools, consumer products, home appliances, electronics, automobiles, chemicals, food products, and asbestos products. Jordan defends these clients against a variety of claims including alleged defective design, manufacture, labeling and instruction, breach of warranty, and fraud.

Additionally, Jordan represents property owners, developers, general contractors, and subcontractors in litigation involving construction site injury and death. He also has significant experience representing commercial motor carriers in personal injury, breach of contract, and property damage litigation. Jordan has defended numerous semi-truck accident cases involving catastrophic injury and death, and has litigated disputes relating to property damage and cargo loss including claims under the Carmack Amendment. Jordan also has represented a large national home improvement retailer across the State of Indiana in premises liability matters, vehicle accidents, product liability litigation, and deceptive consumer practices claims.

Charley Smith has represented numerous entities, including insurers, governmental entities and corporations, in state and federal court. He practices in the areas of insurance coverage, real estate and construction matters, trucking liability and personal injury actions, including catastrophic injury and wrongful death matters. Mr. Smith is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, serving on the Litigation Section’s executive committee, having chaired the committee in 2017. Mr. Smith has presented at continuing education seminars on premises liability, use of experts at trial, determining damages, mediation strategy, and third-party liability. Mr. Smith is an active member of Cross & Crown Lutheran Church, serves as a volunteer and volunteer recruiter for Second Helpings, and as a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana’s Big Growth team. Mr. Smith is an avid reader, cyclist, triathlete, and masters swimmer. Mr. Smith has testified at the Indiana State Senate in opposition to a proposed amendment to Indiana’s Comparative Fault Act that had the potential to drastically increase the exposure defendants in personal injury cases faced.

Todd Spurgeon is a litigator with significant trial experience. Todd routinely appears in State and Federal courts, handling a wide range of insurance defense matters. Additionally, he has handled matters for funeral directors before the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency. Since 2010, Todd has been selected for inclusion on the Rising Stars list published in Indiana Super Lawyers Magazine.

Todd is the current President of the Indiana State Bar Association and is an active member of the American Bar Association, holding positions on various committees over the last several years. In addition to his involvement in other legal and professional organizations, Todd is on the Board of Directors of Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana and a member of the Lions Club of New Albany.

Angela’s practice at Ice Miller focuses on the defense of health care providers — specifically long-term care providers — in cases alleging medical malpractice in courts throughout the State of Indiana. Prior to focusing her practice on medical malpractice defense, Angela represented medical professionals in the correctional setting in cases alleging civil rights violations in federal court.  In addition, she assisted with the appellate briefs for Katz Korin Cunningham in those cases.

Prior to joining Katz Korin Cunningham, she was a Litigation Staff Attorney at the Indiana State Department of Health. There, she practiced administrative and civil litigation for the Divisions of Acute Care, Long-Term Care, Environmental Public Health (EPH), HIV Medical Services, and Children with Special Needs Health Care Services. Angela also assisted with litigation relating to the certification of certified nurse aides and home health aides. She served as the primary attorney for the EPH Division, HIV/STD program, children’s program, and human resources.

Germaine Winnick Willett serves as Senior Counsel in the Labor, Employment and Immigration Section at the Indianapolis office of Ice Miller LLP. She focuses her practice primarily on employment litigation matters, assisting clients with employment discrimination, wage and hour, contract, and other employment-related litigation. She also advises clients on a broad range of issues including proper handling of employee complaints, employment termination, employee leave and accommodation issues, and employment policies. Ms. Willett represents clients in Indiana’s state and federal courts as well as before administrative agencies. Ms. Willett is a member of the American Bar Association (EEO Committee), the Indianapolis Bar Association (chair of Women in Law Division, 2011 and co-chair of WLD Mentoring Program 2012-2018), Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana (chair of Women in Law Committee, 2017-2018, and Board of Directors, 2019-2020), and the Defense Research Institute. She recently completed a two-year term on Ice Miller’s Women’s Initiative, during which she spearheaded a program designed to help female attorneys strengthen their networking and business development skills. She currently serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors for the non-profit organization Growing Places Indy. Ms. Willett received her Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from DePauw University in 1994. She earned her juris doctorate, cum laude, from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law Bloomington, Indiana in 1998 where she served as a Note Editor for the Indiana Law Journal and President of the Women’s Law Caucus.
